Open Library
Open Libraries is one of the fastest ways to enable CDL with a library collection. And it’s 100% free. The process requires an overlap analysis to compare your catalog with the Open Libraries holdings. IA hosts the scans and materials, and the participating library can simply add the link to their catalog. The more libraries that join Open Libraries, the more CDL copies will be available to all users. A group of publishers has filed a complaint against IA in a district court in NY, with a trial set to start in Nov. 2021, but the Open Libraries system is up and running with over 80 libraries participating across the U.S.
